Whenever I travel, it's so exciting to find the vegan foodie wave spreading across the world. There's nothing that fills me with delight more than finding a funky little café serving up compassionate food with creativity! Give me vegie burgers and chunky chips, dragonfruit smoothie bowls, kombucha and vegan pizzas and I'm one happy traveller. Bangkok is a foodie paradise, I basically spent the whole time wandering through the Gourmet Market scraping my jaw off the floor. I was also delighted to find that eating out in Bangkok wasn't all about the pork on a stick – ewww – it's filled with some awesome vegan eats! Here are my top five...
1. Broccoli Revolution
We returned to Broccoli Revolution twice on our trip and then considered ordering it to our hotel room on the last night! Ha! We just couldn't get enough of this place and it's amazing all-vegan food – even the craft beers are vegan and they are oh-so good! Did someone say drool? Arrrgh! You have to try the Broccoli Quinoa Charcoal Burger! Served with chunky chips and fresh house-made tomato sauce, it's vegan comfort food at its best. And it goes down great with that icy cold craft beer. The Vegan Bowls are all great too – especially the Tom Yum and Kiew Wan. And oh, yeah, there's some pretty epic guacamole happening. Don't miss it!

2. Veganerie Concept
Veganerie Concept was my next favourite, and again, we went back twice. I mean, when you can't fit everything in your belly the first time around, you need to go back – am I right? Vegan problems! So, there's lots of great savoury options here, like Italian Crepes, Spaghetti and Pizza, which are all a rare treat for a vegan traveller. But the one thing Veganerie Concept does well are indulgent desserts. Cue the Vegan Brownie Smoothie, the Death By Chocolate Sundae and the Vegan Banoffie Pie. All served with a generous serving of vegan ice cream; of which there are a myriad of yummy flavours to choose from. This one is definitely worth a visit when you're in Bangkok. It's centrally located and the food is as tasty as it is photogenic.

35/2 Soi Methi-nevit, Sukhumvit 24, Bangkok 10110
Unlike the sparkly, buzzing, almost futuristic world of Bangkok, Ethos felt like a cosy gypsy hideaway – it's no wonder they call it an "oasis". The website promises an escape from "the chaos and tedium of Khaosan Road" and that's exactly what you get. Everything is organic, crafted with love, and contains no MSG or refined sugar. The fresh juices and smoothies are truly delicious and are made with exotic local fruits and antioxidant superfoods like mangosteen, noni berry, goji berry, pomegranate and tamarind. Then, lets talk about fermented foods! Ummm... they make their own tempeh, kombucha and kefir. Sweet mother of vegans, this makes me extremely happy!

4. Bonita Café & Social Club
This kitschy little café, decorated with grandma's rare treasures, plates and cookbooks, is a rare find for the vegan traveller. The menu is vegetarian and vegan, including some gluten-free and raw options – it's compassionate comfort food at its familiar best. There's a little mock meat scattered about the menu (which heck, I don't mind when I'm travelling. I mean, when in Rome, right?) like the 'fakin' chips in the Caesar Salad, but my favourite dish was the raw zucchini pasta. Y'all know I love my zoodles! With a chunky tomato sauce, topped with cashew cream cheese, it was truly delish! Almost everything is home-made to order at Bonita Café & Social Club, so even if it's a little slow to arrive, you can bet it'll deliver a decent ve-gasm when it arrives!

Okay, confession time. If you've ever been to Bangkok you know that after all that shop-til-you-drop action, the endless wandering through markets (day and night!) and the exhaustive dining options, you're gonna have a night where you just don't want to leave the hotel room. Or even your bed and fluffy robe, for that matter! And, you know what, that's totally okay. Now that I've justified that, I can admit that's just what we did! Even though we were at one of Bangkok's fanciest and most "instagrammable" hotels!
So, for number 5, I'm going with FoodPanda; a delivery app where you can get ALL the best vegan options in Bangkok delivered to your hotel room, including most of the cafés listed above! For our last night in Bangkok we placed a massive order and stuffed our vegan faces, all cosied up together in a giant fluffy bed. At Lebua Club. Watching Scrooged. Ha ha! And we didn't even once go up to the rooftop. Next time, Bangkok...
